Archibald Knox Tudric Pewter Compote Arts and Crafts Green Glass Liberty & Co

Showing is an original handmade English Arts and Crafts, Art Nouveau polished pewter Compote, Tazza, Pedestal Dish, with a green glass liner. It is stamped on the base “Made in England, Tudric, 0276.” It stands on a large round base with three legs, the bowl is pierced work, decorated with a three bud design, swirling lines. It has a green spun glass liner, with pontil polished but showing. I believe it is original. Tudric was known to have a high silver content. It was made for Liberty & Co of London . The chief designer was Archibald Knox (1864 – 1933).

Archibald Knox is, one of the most creative of the Arts & Crafts designers. His wonderfully evocative designs, which are inspired by our ancient Celtic past.
It stands 5 ¼ inches tall, the base is 5 ¼ inches wide. The glass liner is 5 1/8 inches x 3 inches.
